Gianfranco Máximo Castagnola is Chief Executive Officer of APOYO Consultoría and Chairman of AC Capitales SAFI’s Board of Directors. He is also a board member of IKSA (Lima Cargo City), Scotiabank Perú, Saga Falabella, and Nexa Resources. He has been a director of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru and of the Consolidated Reserves Fund, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce, and a director of various non-profit institutions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Universidad del Pacífico, and a master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard University. Gianfranco Castagnola has been a member of Austral’s Board of Directors since April 2005.

María Jesús Hume Hurtado

She is president of the Board of Directors of AFP Integra and Senior Advisor of the bank of Lazard investment, as well as Director of Banco Falabella Perú. She is a member of the Advisory Councils of the Faculties of Management and Senior Management and Performing Arts of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). Likewise, she is president of the Qualifying Board of the Board of Trustees of the Lima Art Museum. She has been a member of the board of directors of various companies in different sectors of the economy and non-profit foundations in Peru and abroad. She was president of ING Bank in Peru and Colombia. She was vice minister in the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Commerce. She has been a member of Austral's Board of Directors since August 2005.

Adriana Carmen Giudice Alva

General manager

General Manager of Austral. She serves as a director of the National Fisheries Society, Perú Sostenible, the Lima Chamber of Commerce, and the Peruvian-Nordic Chamber of Commerce. She also served as a director of the Lima Chamber of Commerce and AMCHAM until May 2024.

She held the position of Head of the Cabinet of Advisors to the Ministry of Fisheries from October 1999 to November 2000. She was an advisor to the Ministerial Office of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Integration, and International Negotiations from January to September 1999 and from December 2000 to May 2001; a director of OSIPTEL from March 1999 to December 2000; and a partner at the law firm Muñiz, Ramírez, Pérez-Taiman & Luna-Victoria until August 1998. She was a member of the Commission on the Repression of Unfair Competition and Vice President of the Consumer Protection Commission at INDECOPI.

A lawyer who graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, she also completed studies in the Senior Management Program at the University of Piura. She has served as General Manager of Austral since October 2005. Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors of IFFO and has been a director of the National Fisheries Society since October 2005.

Dereck Zimmermann Franco

Fleet Manager

He has over 21 years of experience in the fishing sector, where he has held senior management positions related to fleet management, operations, maintenance, and strategic planning.

Throughout his career, he has led teams and processes focused on ensuring operational efficiency.

He has also provided management advice to fishing companies to improve their operations and decision-making.

He is an industrial engineer from the University of Lima and has an MBA in Strategic Business Administration from Centrum Católica, in addition to executive programs in senior management and strategy.

Didier Saplana Piquemal

Chief Operations Officer

He served as Commercialization Manager until 2013. Subsequently, he assumed the role of Central Operations Manager, overseeing the company's production, maintenance, quality assurance, commercialization, documentation, projects, environmental management, and new business development.

He is currently a Director of the National Fisheries Society (Sociedad Nacional de Pesquería), where he also chairs the Marine Ingredients Committee.

He is a graduate of the University of Bordeaux, France, and holds a Master’s degree in International Economics and Finance, with extensive experience in international trade. He also holds an MBA from INCAE-Adolfo Ibáñez and a Master’s degree in Organizational Governance from the University of Piura. He previously worked at Transamine France, managing shipments and transaction financing for copper concentrates and metallic copper across South America, the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Andrew Dark

He has served as Administration and Finance Manager since December 2012, overseeing finance, accounting, systems, purchasing, and warehousing.

He possesses extensive experience across all financial areas—including auditing, corporate finance, management and financial accounting, business acquisitions and sales, treasury, systems, strategic planning, logistics, and human resources—gained at multinational companies such as Arthur Andersen, British American Tobacco, Unilever, and Trafigura. His career has spanned several countries, including England, Venezuela, Argentina, Honduras, El Salvador, and Panama. Previously, he served as General Manager of Consorcio Minero S.A. (CORMIN) and as a director at Trafigura in Latin America.

He holds a degree in Materials Science from the University of Oxford (England) and is a qualified accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales; he also holds a dual-degree Global MBA from CENTRUM-Católica and Tulane University.
